Conciergerie Opening Hours

The Conciergerie is open every day from 09:30 to 18:00, with the last admission at 17:15. The monument closes only on 1 January, 1 May and 25 December. See our best time to visit page for quieter slots and the visitors guide for what to do once you arrive.

Important: The HistoPad pickup desk closes 60 minutes before the monument so the staff can collect every tablet before lock-up. Plan to arrive by 17:00 if you want to use it. The Conciergerie stays open as normal on Bastille Day (14 July) and Easter Monday with standard 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM hours.

Hours, holidays, and last admission

Is the Conciergerie open every day?

Yes, every day except 1 January, 1 May and 25 December. Unlike many French museums, it does not close on Mondays or Tuesdays.

What time is the last admission?

The last timed slot is at 17:15 every day. The monument itself closes at 18:00, which gives you 45 minutes inside on the very last entry — enough for the highlights but not for a full visit.

Are hours different in summer?

No — the Conciergerie keeps the same 09:30–18:00 schedule year-round. This is unusual for a Centre des monuments nationaux site, where many monuments shift to evening hours in summer.

Is the monument open on Bastille Day?

Yes, on 14 July with standard 09:30–18:00 hours. Métro Cité may be partly closed because of the military parade — walk in from Châtelet or Saint-Michel.

What about Easter and Christmas Eve?

Open with standard hours on Easter Sunday, Easter Monday and 24 December. The Conciergerie only closes on 25 December itself, then reopens 26 December.

Can I use the HistoPad on the last slot?

Technically yes, but the pickup desk closes at 17:00 — one hour before the monument — so a 17:15 entry will not give you time to use one. Pick an earlier slot if the HistoPad matters to you.

How long can I stay inside once I've entered?

Until the 18:00 closing time. The timed slot only governs when you can enter, not how long you can stay — although staff start clearing the rooms from 17:50.
